Financial Literacy Program Creates Awareness and Encouragement in Hapur
April 16, 2026 Dang Ghorahi:
A financial literacy program for centre leaders and entrepreneur members was successfully organized in Hapur, Dang, on 2083/01/03 B.S. The program was conducted by the Hapur Branch Office of Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, promoted by the Rural Women’s Development Centre.
The main purpose of the program was to improve the financial knowledge of centre leaders and entrepreneur members. It aimed to help participants understand the importance of saving, proper use of loans, timely repayment, business planning, and responsible financial management. The program also created an opportunity for members to share their experiences and learn from one another.
The event was held in the presence of Mr. Saugat Bir Chaudhary, Chief Executive Officer of the institution, as the chief guest. His participation made the program more meaningful and encouraging for the members. He highlighted the importance of financial discipline, entrepreneurship, regular saving, and productive use of credit. He also encouraged the participants to continue working hard and to use the services of the institution for improving their businesses and family income.
One of the most important parts of the program was the recognition of hardworking and disciplined members. Four outstanding centres, three outstanding entrepreneur members, one outstanding saver, and four disciplined centres were honoured and rewarded. This recognition increased the confidence of the award recipients and encouraged other members to improve their performance.
The program showed that success is not only measured by income, but also by discipline, regular saving, timely loan repayment, teamwork, and responsible participation in centre activities. By honouring the best-performing members and centres, the institution created a positive environment of healthy competition and continuous improvement.
The event also focused on education and social welfare. To support equal access to education, stationery materials were distributed as scholarships to 15 school-going children. This support helped the children continue their studies and also gave encouragement to their families. It reflected the institution’s commitment to both financial development and social responsibility.
Sanitary pads were also distributed to the participating women members. This activity helped raise awareness about menstrual health and hygiene. It showed that the institution is concerned not only with financial services but also with the health, dignity, and well-being of its members.
The program was conducted under the chairmanship of Ms. Sushila Bhandari, Branch Manager of the Hapur Branch Office. Her leadership and coordination played an important role in making the program successful. The active participation of centre leaders, entrepreneur members, staff, and guests made the event informative and inspiring.
The financial literacy program became a successful example of how microfinance institutions can support economic awareness, entrepreneurship, education, health, and community development. It strengthened the relationship between the institution and its members and motivated everyone to work toward greater financial independence and a better future.
