Reema Chand’s Journey Toward Self-Reliance

September 26,2023:

Reema Chand is a member of Centre No. 72, Siddhababa Women’s Development Centre, under the Narayanpur Branch Office of Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited. The institution is promoted by the Rural Women’s Development Centre. Her journey is a good example of how financial support, hard work, and patience can help a woman build a better future for herself and her family.

Reema joined the institution 11 years ago. At that time, she wanted to improve her family’s financial condition and create a stable source of income. She understood that depending on only one source of income could be difficult. Therefore, she decided to become involved in business activities that could provide regular earnings.

With the support of Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, Reema gradually gained access to financial services and loans. At present, she has taken a loan of NPR 600,000 from the institution. She has used the loan to operate a poultry farm and a grocery shop. Both businesses have become important parts of her economic activities.

Reema’s poultry farm requires regular care and attention. She has to manage the feeding, cleanliness, health, and daily care of the chickens. Poultry farming can be challenging because farmers must carefully manage expenses and protect the birds from diseases. However, Reema continues to work responsibly and remains committed to her business.

Along with poultry farming, she also runs a grocery shop. The shop provides essential daily goods to people in the local community. Operating a grocery shop requires careful purchasing, stock management, customer service, and proper handling of income and expenses. By running both a poultry farm and a grocery shop, Reema has created more than one source of income for her family.

Managing two businesses is not an easy task. It requires time, discipline, proper planning, and continuous effort. Reema’s long association with the microfinance institution has helped her develop confidence and experience in managing loans and business activities. Her ability to use the loan for productive purposes has supported the growth of her work.

The financial assistance provided by Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gave Reema an opportunity to expand her businesses. However, the success of her work is mainly the result of her own dedication and determination. She has shown that loans can create positive change when they are used carefully and invested in income-generating activities.

Today, Reema Chand is an inspiring example for other women in her community. Her journey shows that women can successfully operate businesses, manage financial responsibilities, and contribute to the economic well-being of their families. Her story also encourages other women to believe in their abilities and become involved in productive work.

From joining the institution 11 years ago to operating a poultry farm and grocery shop with a loan of NPR 600,000, Reema has made meaningful progress. Her success is a story of courage, responsibility, and self-reliance. She has proved that with proper financial support and continuous hard work, small efforts can gradually grow into successful and sustainable businesses.
