Training on Banking Fraud and Credit Risk Management in Microfinance held

A two-day training on Banking Fraud and Credit Risk Management in microfinance was held at hotel Pauwa in Ghorahi from April 27 to 28, 2025.
Aatmanirbhar Laghubita Bittiya Sanstha Ltd (ALBS) organized the training in the presence of its founding chairperson Aasmani Chaudhary as chief guest and special guest and Chief Executive Officer Shogat Bir Chaudhary which was attended by as many as 90 staff members representing 21 branches of ALBS.
The participants included branch managers, accounts, and junior marketing assistants.
The first day of training started with the keynote from the CEO, Shogat Bir Chaudary, who addressed the whole staff and told them to work committedly and dedicatedly with efforts to reduce the non-performing loans (NPL) in the next quarter.
Resource person Hit Bahadur Thapa conducted the second session by presenting his slides on what is money laundering, what is anti -money laundering (AML) and about countering the financing of terrorism (CFT) in which discussed about various means of money laundering and the preventive measures to be adopted for security of the financial system in the country.
He also discussed how terrorism financing can destabilize the financial system and increase financial crimes, which should be prevented through the efforts of the staff working for financial institutions through the maintenance of KYC and by regular monitoring of financial transactions of the clients.

This was followed by the presentation of branch wise quarterly financial status of ALBS by central staff member Nirmal Chaudhary. Next session after the lunch was conducted by central senior staff and internal auditor Nep Bahadur Chaudhary who dealt with what is banking fraud and credit risk management in microfinance. This was followed by senior staff Sushila Giri who presented her slides on what happens when clients don not repay the instalments.
The second day sessions were felicitated by central staff, including Subir Chaudhary of It department, internal auditors, Nep Bahadur Chaudhary, Kalidash Chaudhary, and Binay Chaudhary. CEO Shogat Chaudhary also addressed the participants and stressed on the need to work with skill to achieve the targets, such as repayment of non-performing loans (NPL).
The concluding remarks were delivered by chief guest Aasmani Chaudhary, who stressed on the sincerity, commitment and dedication of staff to achieve the desired and expected outputs in the microfinance services in the midst of increasing competition among other microfinance companies in the country.
